How to Get Robux in 2026: 6 Legit Ways (and the Scams to Avoid)
Robux is the virtual currency of Roblox. You use it to customize your avatar, buy game passes and unlock extras inside experiences. Because so many players want more of it, Robux is also the favorite bait of scammers. This guide covers only the official, legitimate ways to get Robux, plus the red flags that can cost you your account.
1. Buy Robux directly from Roblox
The simplest way is to buy Robux on the official Roblox website or inside the Roblox app on your phone, console or computer. Prices and bundle sizes vary by platform and country, and buying on the website sometimes includes bonus offers. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before making any purchase.
2. Use official Roblox gift cards
Roblox gift cards are sold at many retail stores and online. You redeem them at roblox.com/redeem and can turn the credit into Robux or a Premium subscription. Only buy cards from trusted retailers, and never share a card’s PIN with anyone.
3. Subscribe to Roblox Premium
Roblox Premium is a monthly subscription that gives you a Robux allowance every month, plus extra benefits such as access to trading and a bonus when buying Robux. Several tiers are available, and the amount of Robux depends on the tier you choose. Check the official Premium page for current plans and prices.
4. Create experiences in Roblox Studio
Roblox Studio is the free tool used to build every game on the platform. Creators can earn Robux by selling game passes and developer products inside their experiences, and through engagement-based payouts when Premium members spend time in their games. It takes time to learn, but it is the path that most successful creators follow. A good starting point is the Roblox Creator Hub.
5. Design and sell avatar items
Players who enjoy design can create clothing and accessories and sell them in the Marketplace. Each sale earns the creator a share of the price in Robux. Some item types have requirements, such as an upload fee or program eligibility, so read the Creator Hub rules before starting.
6. Join or build a Roblox group
Groups can sell items and experiences together, and the group owner can share earnings with members through group payouts. If you join a development group, make sure it is real and well known, and never pay anyone up front to “join” a group that promises Robux.
Bonus: turning Robux into real money (DevEx)
Creators who earn a large amount of Robux and meet the requirements can apply to the Developer Exchange (DevEx) program to exchange earned Robux for real money. The rules, minimum balance and exchange rate are set by Roblox and can change, so always check the official page.
Red flags: how to spot a Robux scam
- “Free Robux” generators: they do not exist. Any site or app asking for your username and password to “add” Robux is trying to steal your account.
- Apps or surveys promising Robux: third-party apps cannot add Robux to your account. Only Roblox can.
- Requests for your password or 2-step code: Roblox staff will never ask for them.
- “Robux for followers” or “send Robux first” deals: these almost always end with you losing what you sent.
- Links in chat or comments: fake login pages are the most common way accounts are stolen. Log in only at roblox.com or in the official app.
To protect your account, turn on 2-Step Verification in your Roblox security settings and add an email address so you can recover access if something goes wrong.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get free Robux?
There is no official way to get Robux for free with no effort. You can earn Robux by creating experiences or items, or receive a monthly allowance with Premium. Anything that promises free Robux instantly is a scam.
What is the safest way to get Robux?
Buying directly on roblox.com, in the official app, or using an official gift card from a trusted store.
Can I get banned for using Robux generators?
Yes. Using exploits or sharing your account breaks the Roblox Terms of Use and can lead to a ban, and you are also very likely to lose your account to scammers.
